COMMUNITY WORK
Giving Back
Since 2017 and the creation of the GG3x3 (our non-profit platform where the love for 3×3 started – find out more here) we’ve been driving positive social change with 3×3 basketball in communities across the UK.
Alongside the motto that “Small changes can make BIG differences” we’ve run community-focused camps, given motivational speeches and spread as much positivity as possible on and off the court.
3x3 Clinics for Young Hoopers
We’ve worked with local authorities and community groups to run free sessions for local, young hoopers from diverse backgrounds but who face tough challenges as they grow-up. Our #Ball4Life clinics have been incredibly impactful, helping young people to get active, be positive and feel safe in a familiar setting.
Overall, we’ve coached over 1,000 players between 6-17 years old. We were part of the “Young Tower Hamlets” 2023 launch to provide activities to over 2,000 young people and most recently we worked with local community group “Together As One” in Slough to run a 3×3 workshop for the youth in the area.
Putting Nets Up On Hoops
We partnered with Basketball England’s “ProjectSwish” team to create the “NothingButNetLDN” challenge, putting up nets on hoops across London. A whole group of volunteers came together for this project, including GB star and WNBA Champion, Temi Fagbenle.
A net can help a player’s aim improve, it stops the ball rolling away and it makes the whole court and park so much better to look at. Check out some of the numbers!
Supporting the Federation
After the Commonwealth Games success, we worked with the Federation to bring 3×3 basketball to schools. The first time a programme like this has existed in the UK.
We provided the coaching and basketballs as part of the Commonwealth Legacy Programme – now the schools are continuing with 3×3 basketball themselves at the request of their students.
